This tree is one of the 150 trees initially included in the arboretum to coincide with the campus's 150th anniversary celebration.

Additional Notes:
Apple serviceberry is a hybrid of two native serviceberry species.  Tree breeders have developed several varieties of the apple serviceberry to help satisfy landscapers’ appetites for small, multi-stemmed trees with showy flowers and brilliant fall foliage.  As a bonus, you can eat the berries.
