This tree is one of the 150 trees initially included in the arboretum to coincide with the campus's 150th anniversary celebration.

Additional Notes:
A naturally occurring hybrid in the southeastern United States, Foster’s holly was first collected in the forests of Florida.  This species has particularly glossy leaves making a striking feature tree that will never grow too large for this highly cultivated setting.
