This tree is one of the 150 trees initially included in the arboretum to coincide with the campus's 150th anniversary celebration.

Nova Scotia to Pennsylvania, west to Minnesota and Iowa

Mature Height and Width:
60-75 feet by 60-75 feet, can reach 100 feet high

Additional Notes:
Although northern red oak acorns lack the palatability of white oak for wildlife species, it often produces prolific crops of large acorns.  These are great trees for watching squirrels and other acorn-caching species in the fall.
