This tree is one of the 150 trees initially included in the arboretum to coincide with the campus's 150th anniversary celebration.

50-60 feet by 15-25 feet, can reach 120 feet high

Additional Notes:
Oriental spruce is native to the Caucasus Mountain region.  Because of its beautiful foliage and ability to tolerate a wide range of soil conditions, this species is widely planted outside its natural range as an ornamental tree.  However, slow growth limits its popularity for wood products planting outside its native range.
