Additional Notes:
One of many landscaping trees that originated as a naturally occurring hybrid, Foster’s holly represents the vast floral diversity of the forests of the southeastern U.S., a region for which southern Illinois lies near the northern extent. The SIU arboretum benefits from our placement in this transition, providing a home suitable for, but sometimes challenging to, trees from across the U.S. and around the world.
