Additional Notes:
Japanese cedar looks a lot like Giant Sequoia, including its ability to grow very large, up to 230 feet tall and 13 feet in diameter in its native Japan. The tree is widely planted in east and south Asia and its timber greatly appreciated for its strength, light weight, fragrance, resistance to insects, and reddish-pink color. Uses include barrel staves, paneling, furniture, and building construction.
