This tree is one of the 150 trees initially included in the arboretum to coincide with the campus's 150th anniversary celebration.

Additional Notes:
Taking the form of a small tree or multi-stem shrub, the seven son tree provides a fall food source for pollinator species.  Although no longer found in the wild in its native China, this species is increasingly popular among landscapers and highlights the biodiversity conservation value of the arboretum.
