Additional Notes:
Serviceberry is one of the first species to flower and produce pollen. For that reason, its plays an important role as a pollen source for bees, butterflies and other pollinator species. Soon after, many species of songbirds use its fruit as a highly nutritious food source, long before other fruits have ripened.
